Judy Gold Latest Jewish Artist to Face Antisemitism

Judy Gold deserves some conservative respect.

The progressive comic hates President Donald Trump as much as her liberal peers, but during the worst of the Cancel Culture era she stood tall for free speech.

That put her in a small minority of left-leaning stars who refused to surrender to the woke mob. Think John Cleese, Bill Maher and Ricky Gervais. She even wrote a book about it - "Yes, I Can Say That: When They Come for the Comedians We Are All in Trouble."

Now, she's learning another toxic part of her progressive team. They're often uncomfortable with Jewish people. Remember how Team Kamala Harris passed over Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, a popular politician overseeing a state she simply had to win, to select Gov. Tim Walz as her vice presidential nominee.

Gulp.

Her fellow liberals are often unwilling to call out the shocking rise in Antisemitism, especially on college campuses post-Oct. 7. And how many of her celebrity peers pushed the Mamdani for Mayor campaign, knowing his shocking brushes with antisemitism

Gold got a first-hand taste of antisemitism in recent days, with both events taking place in a city with a large Jewish population - the Big Apple.

The first incident took place during her April 3 performance at the New York Comedy Club. Mid-show, she had a brief exchange with a patron who fired back with, "You're a Jew." The patron was escorted out, and he didn't go quietly, according to Page Six.

The veteran comic shared the moment via social media.

it wasn't an isolated incident. The very next night, an audience member yelled out a comment about Jewish people being cheap.

"So I said, ‘Thanks for bringing that trope back from 1600,” she recalled to Page Six, though she refused to name the club in question.

This isn't new.

Jewish artists have been under attack for some time. Musician Matisyahu has had select performances canceled after protesters made the venues fear potential violence. Jewish actor-turned-comedian Michael Rapaport of "Justified" fame had two shows canceled last year due to his pro-israel stance.

Author Brett Gelman, perhaps best known for his work on "Stranger Things," had book signing appearance canceled for "safety concerns."

Protests. Threats. The Heckler's Veto in action.

Gold's experiences aren't new, but they rarely get the media's attention. The outlets that covered her comedy club encounters? Fox News and The New York Post.

She deserves credit for sharing her experiences far and wide, even if most media outlets looked the other way.
