It also experienced the Nation’s highest vehicle theft rate with 842.4 thefts per 100,000 residents — over three times the national average of 250.2 thefts per 100,000 residents. The District of Columbia is, by some measures, among the top 20 percent of the most dangerous cities in the world.

Liberals are screaming that D.C. is not as bad as it was in 2023, which is true. But that is like saying that Kamala Harris was a better presidential candidate than Joe Biden--in other words, so what? 2025's D.C. may not be prowled by Snake Plissken combing the city for the president, but if your capital city is less safe than Bogota, you have a problem.
