I absolutely, positively understand why liberals dislike Donald Trump's policies. He is, after all, reversing so many of the policies they love, and they have every right to object to them.
But seriously, folks, get a grip. Donald Trump is not trying to be a king, and your biggest complaint is that he is actually enforcing immigration laws passed by Congress, which your preferred president did everything to subvert. The great martyr to freedom most celebrated by liberals in the media is a wife-beating human trafficker who may, or may not, be deported after a long, drawn-out legal process.
Sure, there are clashes in the streets between ICE officers and Antifa activists, but those are on Antifa. A U.S. senator was briefly handcuffed because he charged the Secretary of Homeland Security while concealing his identity as a Senator (he revealed his identity AFTER he was detained).
When there is a legal dispute about a presidential action, the courts get their say--and, usually, the Supreme Court eventually rules in favor of the president.
The images we see from Pravda are enough to incite outrage, of course, and the carefully curated stories are designed to bring tears to the eyes of the emotionally incontinent. I wrote about the prevalence of the sob story over the full story yesterday. Propagandists are good at that sort of thing.

If Donald Trump were a king, there would be no court battles. There would be no government shutdown. The Senate Democrats wouldn't be able to put roadblocks in Trump's way. The courts wouldn't be in a position to even delay, let alone deny a presidential diktat.
And certainly, celebrities wouldn't be taking to social media promoting a massive protest against the president. Hell, in UK, if these people were this vehement about immigration reform, they would all be tossed in jail by Keir Starmer, who is closer to an autocrat than Donald Trump. If he were in Germany, he would already have classified the Democrats as an extremist group and tried to keep them off the ballots, as is being done against AfD.
Hey. Wait. Didn't the Democrats try to keep Trump off the ballot? I seem to recall that they did. Maybe I am mistaken about that, but I don't think so. And I seem to recall that when Democratic Party Secretaries of State tried to do so--the courts blocked them, as I recall--they were heroes to the Democrats.
Donald Trump didn't give a prime-time speech choreographed by Leni Riefenstahl denouncing his political opponents, complete with ominous lighting and the military standing guard behind him. You guys love that sort of thing.
Ironically, Democrats are urging Republicans to eliminate the filibuster in order to pass the clean continuing resolution that they themselves refuse to pass.

Not so long ago, the Democrats argued that the filibuster was vital to preserving Democracy, and before that, the opposite, and before that, vital, and before that not. The story is never the same, except...they get the advantage no matter what.
Lawfare? Oh, come on. How many trials did Donald Trump face at the height of the presidential campaign? That was a fair and necessary application of the law. It was Letitia James who was solemnly declaring that Donald Trump committed mortgage fraud, and that it was deeply serious.
Now? Everybody does it, and prosecuting it is proof that we live in a fascist state.
Mortgage fraud is either really serious or not a big deal, it all depends on if it's Trump people being charged or Letitia James.

If Donald Trump were half the authoritarian that these people have declared him, they couldn't have declared him a fascist with impunity. Nobody is getting "disappeared," Trump has no Gestapo (although the Democrats have their Black Bloc shock troops), and we have no political prisoners.
It is all so tiresome. As tiresome as the newfound ability to diagnose senility in presidents. Democrats who solemnly assured us that Joe Biden was sharp as a tack are now screaming to high heaven that Donald Trump is mentally and physically incapable of being the president.

As many have noted, the Democrats are the party of the third-rate theater kids who believe that being overly dramatic is the same as being convincing. And, admittedly, there is a segment of the population who are touched by the drama. The same people who watch the prime-time drama shows and long for a doctor with amnesia who has just recovered from a coma to return to her old job.

Democrats have no obligation to vote for a budget that funds corruption and totalitarianism.
Trump is willing to do whatever it takes to destroy our democracy and pad the pockets of billionaires.
People don't want Democrats to wilt. They want us to fight.
It's all so tiresome. I am convinced that at least some of the disapproval for Trump among the populace wants him to go away for no other reason than to end the drama of the Democrats. They are tired of the Democrats' acting insane, and want this farce to end however it can.

The thing is, the theater kids live for the drama, and if Trump leaves the scene, they will latch on to the new threat, whoever it is for them.
