With so much news—especially Middle East news—it was easy to miss this.
According to the outgoing CEO of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for the Palestinian People, Philippe Lazzarini, the UNRWA is on the verge of collapse.
One by one, terror regimes are collapsing: Venezuela, Iran, Cuba — and now UNRWA https://t.co/6Y9rdyW1hK

It's about damn time. The UNRWA may not be quite as big a sponsor of terrorism as Iran, but it sure is in spitting distance.
The UNRWA is unique; it is the only UN agency dedicated to servicing one group of "refugees," and contrary to your expectations, it does so in many countries throughout the Middle East. Every other group of displaced people is aided by the UN High Commission for Refugees.
Why this unique status? It is through UNRWA that the whole concept of "Palestinians" was created and sustained, and through which the terrorist infrastructure that has maintained the Israel-Palestinian conflict for generation after generation. It exists primarily to keep the conflict going, both for ideological and pecuniary reasons.

It's time to shut down UNRWA and remove the antisemitic UN leadership that's only helping the problem grow
When will the world wake up?
Far from being an aid agency, it teaches terrorists, harbors them in its ranks, allows them to communicate freely and under the auspices of the United Nations, and it helps fund the terrorist infrastructure that has kept the Middle East unstable for decades.
Hamas survivor Mia Schem has revealed the horrifying truth about the UN's role in Gaza.

Hamas survivor Mia Schem has revealed the horrifying truth about the UN's role in Gaza.
She exposes how UNRWA employees, who are Hamas members, were directly involved in her captivity and the broader terror: Hamas moved her in ambulances, hid her in UN facilities, and sheltered in hospitals and schools.
It is an active partnership in terror. The world must stop turning a blind eye. Where is the UN accountability?
The UNRWA runs the Palestinian school system that raises children to be martyrs to the cause, and UNRWA doctors do double duty as terrorists themselves. UNRWA employees were key participants in the October 7th massacres, and its aid during the Gaza war went straight to Hamas.
The Gaza war has been nearly as disastrous for the UNRWA as for Hamas, not because a few hundred of its terrorist employees have been killed, but because a parallel aid structure was created on the fly, cutting the UNRWA out of the equation.
Hence, Lazzarini's warning: without all that money they collected, the agency is dying.
Looking ahead, as underscored in the New York Declaration, there is no doubt that UNRWA's massive workforce and expertise are vital for the successful
implementation of Security Council resolution 2803 and the Gaza peace plan, specifically with regard to supporting humanitarian aid, public services, local governance, stabilization, and socioeconomic recovery. Further, at a time of immense fragility for the region as a whole, UNRWA is, by many orders of magnitude, the largest, best-established, most cost-effective UN humanitarian and development presence in the region.
It is therefore incomprehensible to record here that, without immediate political and financial support from Member States to deliver UNRWA's mandate and to protect against efforts to dismantle its operations, the Agency is near the end of its viability. The risks of fuelling further regional instability and harming Palestinian rights are immense.
I urge Member States, which have repeatedly renewed the Agency's mandate for over seven decades, to restore UNRWA's temporary nature by leveraging its expertise and workforce as key assets for the successful implementation of Security Council resolution 2803 in Gaza and for a broader political process that addresses the longstanding question of Palestine.
If Member States do not provide the required support for UNRWA to sustain its operations, then the full operational and financial responsibility for delivering services to Palestine Refugees would fall on Israel under its legal responsibility as the Occupying Power in the OPT; while Lebanon, Jordan and Syria, as host countries, would immediately face an enormous burden.
In my final letter to the General Assembly, I must state my horror that a United Nations entity has been allowed to be crushed as UNRWA has, in violation of international law, with its staff and Palestinian communities paying an unacceptable price. I am appalled that the Agency has become a proxy battleground for outcomes to the Israel-Palestine conflict and that Palestine Refugees have been so callously betrayed. While those who ordered and carried out the shameful actions against UNRWA carry the greatest responsibility, the General Assembly must also consider its responsibility.
His being appalled and horrified is music to my ears. His hands are soaked in blood, and may he rot in hell.
As a general rule, every UN effort to help keep the peace, provide aid in disasters, and improve living conditions for people in need has not just been a failure but has made things worse. UN peacekeepers have spread disease, run sex trafficking operations, and managed to turn Canadian soldiers into predators.
Canadians! How does one manage that?
As with so many liberal projects, the only thing good about the UNRWA and the UN itself is their propaganda. They say things that stroke the emotional erogenous zones of liberals, and it matters not that they produce nothing but evil.
So, good riddance to the UNRWA, and let's hope the UN itself is next.
