The Hypocrisy About Swalwell Is Off the Charts

As I wrote yesterday, everybody knew about Eric Swalwell.

Or, should I say, everybody in Washington and in California Democratic Party circles knew, including reporters.

That's not an accusation made by conservatives who are just throwing mud at Democrats and the media. Almost everybody admits that they knew and used their knowledge as evidence that Swalwell needed to go.

Reporters say things like, "I knew, but it wasn't my beat." Former staffers, including the woman accusing Swalwell of raping her, explain that they couldn't talk because it might hurt their careers.

But suddenly, when they get the green light, it all gets dumped out into the public. Reporters who defended Swalwell a few years ago are now all over this story, and Brian Stelter actually went on CNN to declare that this episode has been a triumph of tough-minded investigative reporting.

This is a masterclass of how the Democratic Party machine works. They lie, they cover up, they accumulate all the oppo research that they can, and when it is useful, they do a data dump and congratulate themselves for being truth-tellers.

The propaganda machine swings into motion, and an entirely new Narrative™ is created, and the consciences of the "moderate" Democrats who so desperately want to believe themselves the good guys are soothed.

This is the "sharp as a tack" crowd, using the same tactics they used to cover up Joe Biden's senility. For years, they claimed that Joe Biden was "better than ever," and accused Republicans of spreading cheap fakes. Then, when it was convenient to get Joe Biden out, they piled on.

And then, when Biden got out, he was George Washington.

Democrats used Swalwell as one of their "designated liars," and unsurprisingly was a prime pusher of the Kavanaugh smears. As he was held up as a leading light of morality and women's rights, he was simultaneously known to be a serial sexual harasser who abused his own staff.

You would think that media figures who knew all this would have pointed out Swalwell's own behavior as he slandered Brett Kavanaugh, but...of course not.

Their job, after all, is to be stenographers for Democrats. The green light came, they did their duty to destroy Swalwell, and now are preening. "We did good!"

Well, in the eyes of their masters, they did. This episode lays the whole scam out bare, and it will make zero difference to Democratic Party voters, who will applaud the reporters for doing their job: promoting Democratic Party governance.

You don't have to imagine what would happen if the accused were Republican. We know exactly, because we have seen it. For me, the most startling example of this is the setup of Larry Craig, who was arrested for taking a dump with his legs spread too wide. I have no idea whether Craig was trolling for sex or not, but I do know that, based on his "wide stance," he was driven out of politics.

That blew me away. His way of sitting on a toilet was proof beyond doubt of sexual depravity, while actual sexual depravity by a Democrat was covered up.

Why Democratic Party voters, many of whom, I still insist, try to be decent people, tolerate being lied to and keep going back to the liars for more, like dogs to their own vomit, is beyond me. COVID, "sharp as a tack," Hunter Biden, Joe Biden showering with his daughter...none of this makes an impression because they choose to be blind to the obvious.

Everybody knew, nobody said anything about it.

And Democratic Party voters are fine with that. They were told to love Swalwell, so they did. Now they are being told to hate Swalwell, so they do.

And they call Trump supporters cultists.

Editor's note: If we thought our job in pushing back against the Academia/media/Democrat censorship complex was over with the election, think again. This is going to be a long fight.
