Newark New Jersey Is a War Zone

Over the past two weeks, there have been nightly and escalating riots at the Delaney ICE Detention Center.

Massive resources have been poured in by outside NGOs funded by leftist billionaires, foundations, Neville Singham, and the Chinese Communist Party. Protesters from around the country have assembled there, expensive riot gear provided to the activists, and even scripts given to selected spokespeople to push out a carefully constructed message.

As in Minnesota, local politicians have been backing the rioters, insisting that they are only using their First Amendment right to protest, even if that means assaulting officers, lighting fires, stealing from local businesses, dismantling public property to turn the rubble into weapons, and demanding that officers kill themselves, or threatening to kill them and their families.

It's all coordinated, and the rioters are trained in how to maximize damage, create the maximum amount of psychological impact on officers, and how to incite viral events for propaganda purposes.

Governor Mikie Sherrill refused to help Homeland Security, despite riots taking place on the streets outside the facility, which were therefore within New Jersey's jurisdiction. After enormous pressure, she agreed to let the State Police do riot control, and the results were, shall we say, underwhelming.

The State Police managed to clear the area, temporarily. Long enough to see how much equipment was left behind, and the disaster area the site had become.

But that didn't last long, and Sherrill is in something of a tough spot. Now her own police are getting attacked—these are revolutionaries who see all state power as illegitimate, and Sherrill doesn't seem to understand that she doesn't control the Brownshirts. She continues to blame ICE for all the problems, but with injuries to her own officers racking up, she can't say nothing about the violence.

So now she is doing another Walz dance: saying it is only a few outside agitators, and that most of the people there are peaceful, and it would all go away if ICE just did what the revolutionaries demand.

Last night, masked individuals at Delaney Hall attacked the barrier in the protected protest area and began aggressive and dangerous actions against Newark and New Jersey State Police, including throwing projectiles, utilizing the barriers as weapons, and lighting tires on fire in the street. These actions put both peaceful protestors and law enforcement in danger. The police were not in protective gear; they had been on location since early in the morning ensuring protestors and counter protestors had areas to exercise their rights safely. As these dangerous actions took place, additional support was needed to protect civilians and law enforcement.

My number one priority will always be public safety, and I remain dedicated to protecting constitutional rights. We simply cannot let ICE surge into our community.

I do not know why these individuals attacked or what they wanted to accomplish, but I refuse to let these dangerous actions detract from New Jersey’s dedication to ensuring public safety, keeping people safe from ICE, and that the people detained inside Delaney Hall are treated with dignity.

While NJSP and Newark PD continue to keep the area secure, I once again urge everyone who shares these goals to work together to bring the temperature down. We must focus on advocating for better conditions for the detainees, for their families, and ultimately, for the closure of Delaney Hall, as well as to protect the many peaceful protestors who continue to make this their mission.

The rioters had been doing all those things for weeks, but Sherrill thought it was just great when it was federal agents getting assaulted.

Sherrill obviously knows exactly why her police were getting assaulted. She knew what was happening there, and no doubt it was pressure from the businesses getting hammered by the riots that got her to deploy the State Police in the first place. What she has discovered is that the issue is never the issue; the issue is the revolution, and the revolutionaries don't care about Mikie Sherrill's political future.

Senator Andy Kim's response was equally farcical. He declares that his North Star is defending illegal aliens, most of whom are criminals who did awful things in the United States, all while having been at the ribbon-cutting for the center when Barack Obama was president.

In other words, it's all posturing for the cameras. Kim didn't have a problem with ICE detaining people until it became fashionable to be upset about it.

These Democrats want enough chaos to lay the blame on President Trump and to allow them to moralistically posture, but as Sherrill is finding out, revolutionaries are hard to control. They are, by their very nature, violent, deranged people whose goal is to destroy.

As I have been saying, this will be a long, hot summer, and I'm not certain the Democrats are ready to face what they have unleashed.

Editor’s Note: Democrat politicians and their radical supporters will do everything they can to interfere with and threaten ICE agents enforcing our immigration laws.
