A comic did what comics should do: expose the absurdity of something in a single killshot.
This is a skill that good comics excel at: use sharp wit to sharpen a point and then drive it like a stake through the heart of somebody or something in seconds, in a way that argumentation rarely can. It is a power that can be used for good or ill, since it relies on hyperbole and hence can distort an issue by throwing out important points, but at its best it can pierce the bubble that makes something seem convincing to people when it is in fact absurd.
In this case, comedian Mike Hammock drove a well-deserved stake through the heart of the Lindsay Clancy supporters' vampiric ideology.

A Lindsay Clancy supporter was asked whether she'd still support Clancy if she had been shouting the N-word while killing her three children. Her answer? “Probably not.”
Comedian Mike Hammock was performing at Loonees Comedy Corner in Colorado Springs when a Clancy supporter in the audience began shouting at him.
Hammock asked her whether she would still support Clancy if evidence at trial had shown she was shouting the N-word during the killings.
“Probably not,” the woman answered.
Hammock immediately responded: “Probably not, because killing kids is one thing, but that word is, like, a big deal, you know!”
That answer says an awful lot about the twisted thinking surrounding some of the support for Lindsay Clancy. A woman who admittedly killed her three children can still receive sympathy and support, but this supporter says the N-word might have been the dealbreaker.
Lindsay Clancy's supporters rely on a trivially true point: that mental illness can lead people to do irrational things and its sufferers need help. I know this well, since mental illness runs in my family, so I am particularly sympathetic to the plight of sufferers.
But from this kernel of truth, a lot of absurd and dangerous beliefs flow. Mental illness does not excuse all actions, simply because it may explain something. It does not make one a hero, as Lindsay Clancy has been, and the mental gymnastics Clancy's supporters do to make her one are Olympic-level.
Mike Hammock is able to make the gymnasts stumble in one sentence.
Leave aside for the moment the bizarre fact that so many people are seemingly OK with a mom killing her kids, and some have even taken to mimicking her actions as if they are not just understandable but normal, and focus on the fact that the moral calculus depends on a calculus that is in itself reflective of a worldview that almost normal. And the moral calculus is exactly the same one that explains so much about what has gone wrong in Western societies.
A mother can murder her children and be considered morally pure if she is sad; but the same sad person can't be considered good if she shouts the N-word.
You may think that the answer that Clancy murdering children is worse than saying the "N-word" is idiosyncratic and not reflective of a widely held view, but that would be wrong. ChatGPT was trained on the same value system that produced this moral framework that values virtue signaling over mass deaths.

The problem is the moral framework from which these people are starting. They have, in a very real way, been trained into a value system that values people and things according to an arbitrary intersectional ladder of oppression. Human children have been falling to lower and lower rungs of the ladder over time, to the point that liberal women break out in applause when abortion until birth is codified into law.

It's the same moral framework that led to the rape gang cover-ups in the United Kingdom. Officials genuinely believed that it was better to throw English girls to the wolves than appear racist against South Asians. The moral calculus appears insane to most of us, but within that mindset it makes perfect sense.
If you want to understand why medical schools are teaching future doctors to prioritize Indigenous ways of knowing, why universities are teaching students to value origin myths as equivalent to scientific explanations, or why schools use easier standards for racial minorities or eliminate standards altogether, it all comes down to the same value system.
It's why gender fanatics value the desires of transgender "women" over the genuine fears of real women and girls. Girls are lower on the ladder than trans people, whose autogynophilic desires supersede the real needs for privacy among females.
It's how COVID fascism took hold. Fear of appearing COVID-skeptical led many people to adopt cruelty to conservatives as necessary and good. Being in an identifiable "good" person category makes any action taken by those people "good" by definition.
Actions don't matter; where you stand on the intersectional ladder is the only variable.
I'm pretty sure that it will be impossible to break through to the true believers in the intersectional ladder of moral worth, but exposing the absurdity of this value system is possible when we force ordinary people to see the moral trade-offs being made.
It's happening...slowly. And only because enough people are tired of being bullied into saying and believing things that are morally repulsive.
But we shouldn't overestimate our success. DEI programs are being renamed, not dismantled. Blue states are codifying in law regimes that should be morally offensive. Liberals are doubling down on their perverted moral system. We have to make it cost them dearly.
