Well, it's Schumer Shutdown day ... again. While Duane and I talked, Axios confirmed that the new Senate Dem strategy would be to wait until after Tuesday's elections in Virginia and New Jersey to vote for the clean CR. I argued that Schumer et al were dropping a "chaos bomb" on voters, especially low-income voters and federal workers who will miss another paycheck today. And for what? Duane and I debated the filibuster, American history, and the abomination of the 17th Amendment and the fin de siecle progressive movement that produced it. And what in the hell is happening at the Heritage Foundation, anyway?
