Welcome to our VIP feature for Hot Air as well as a members-only show in the Hughniverse! Duane Patterson and I now are doing a Week in Review show for Friday evenings, exclusive to members in both platforms. Duane has been the Generalissimo behind the Hugh Hewitt Show for more than two decades, and we have partnered on weekly commentary since 2007.

What stories topped your priority lists this week? Before Duane and I got to the war with Iran and the status of the ceasefire, we took a detour to see Duane's use of AI in his new promotion for the "Magnificent 7" segment of the Duane's World podcast. It's amusing to see the limitations of AI, but it's also impressive how much he can do with it. (The animation reminds me of Veggie Tales, actually!)

After that, though, we debate the wisdom of the cease-fire and what may come next. I'm more skeptical about the wisdom of the pause; like Mark Levin, I would have preferred a longer campaign. Duane reminds me that we don't have full knowledge of the situation, and that a pause may work for us strategically as well as logistically, a point Trump himself made after we finished recording. The lack of compliance with the condition to reopen the Strait of Hormuz makes us both nervous, but also provides a pretext for fast action after talks start in Islamabad.

After that, we discuss the status of NATO and America's strategic interests. We also debate the situation in Lebanon, and have a choice word or two for Pope Leo's demands for Israel to stop fighting the war that Hezbollah keeps launching in defiance of all peace agreements.

Be sure to watch it all, and extend the conversation in the comments!
