Welcome to our VIP feature for Hot Air as well as a members-only show in the Hughniverse! Duane Patterson and I now are doing a Week in Review show for Friday evenings, exclusive to members in both platforms. Duane has been the Generalissimo behind the Hugh Hewitt Show for more than two decades, and we have partnered on weekly commentary since 2007. And don't miss Duane's new podcast series and platform, Duane's World!

What stories topped your priority lists this week? Out top story tonight (IYKYK) started off being the war in Iran, but wound up being the War of the Districts. The ruling came down from the Virginia state supreme court while Duane and I recorded today's episode, which cut short our discussion of the non-cease-lotsa-fire situation in the Strait of Hormuz. We wondered whether Donald Trump grasped the true nature of the enemy, although Duane was more optimistic than I was about whether Trump turned a corner on that point today.

The redistricting war took us on a tour of the country, with lots of nuance as to what comes next. We both enjoyed the schadenfreude of Temu Obama – Hakeem Jeffries – falling on his face with the SCOVA reversal. That's $50 million down the drain, but their real problem isn't SCOVA – it's Callais. The true nature of this decision goes well beyond the 2026 midterm congressional maps; by this time in 2029, state legislatures may look much different. Is this the end of the progressive movement, and will we see a return of the Blue Dog Democrats? Or Yellow Dog Republicans, for that matter?

Be sure to watch it all, and extend the conversation in the comments!
