Welcome to our VIP feature for Hot Air as well as a members-only show in the Hughniverse! Duane Patterson and I now are doing a Week in Review show for Friday evenings, exclusive to members in both platforms. Duane has been the Generalissimo behind the Hugh Hewitt Show for more than two decades, and we have partnered on weekly commentary since 2007.
Who came out on top this week – and who came out on the bottom? Duane and I discuss the eyebrow-raising campaign theme adopted by James Talarico, which finally got some notice after several months of percolating below the radar. Are Texans going to rush to identify as "bottoms" for the Democrat nominee, or is this an early sign that Talarico is in way over his head in a statewide race? We also look at the state of play in Michigan, where Gretchen Whitmer is playing hard-to-get for the 2028 cycle while the Democrat primary for the Senate is several flavors of crazy. That's also true in Maine, where Susan Collins dunked on the Totenkopf Kandidate.
Duane and I briefly discuss the status in the Strait of Hormuz, but the status is a little too quo for either of our tastes. Instead, we focus on Jill Biden's re-emergence to sell a fraud that has long since been exposed. Literally no one buys the idea that teh Waffle House is a great intervention for potential acute strokes. (Probably not even Waffle House!) Dr. Jill's new cash-out memoir didn't get a great reception from the mainstream media or Democrats. And yes, that's a redundancy, but bringing up Biden may have some consequences for the 2028 primary field.
Be sure to watch it all, and extend the conversation in the comments!
