The Center Can't Hold. Neither, Apparently, Can The Extreme Left.

Remember the 1990s and 2000s?  When militant "militias" who rejected government authority were the boogieman of the hour?

You do, and I do.  But the left and media apparently don't.

Leftists in Minneapolis have been setting up checkpoints to scan drivers' licenses for suspected ICE vehicles on the city's south side:

After a few days of apparent acquiescence, the Minneapolis Police Department finally reasserted some control over the situation:

I'm not the only Twin Cities resident to have thought that Jacob Frey and his administration were never going to cross the left's mob.

But all apparently isn't well on the other side of the barricades.

Will Stancil - the endlessly smug influencer, lawyer, and former candidate for the Minneapolis City Council - was a golden child of "the resistance", until, suddenly, he wasn't.

On the one hand, it's a little comical - like a bunch of grade school kids arguing over whether someone got tagged or not:

On the other?  It's what happens when idealists like Stancil run into ideologues and "true believers" (or just goons, whether paid or not); it's all about who is more committed, and the idealists rarely win that one:

Speaking of goons and the left eating their own - remember William Kelly?  The guy arrested for the attack on Cities Church in Saint Paul a few weeks ago for his foul-mouthed and scrupulously filmed ranting at worshippers?

Which is, by the way, not a new thing for him?

Indeed, he's built a bit of a lifestyle:

Kelly has that whole "federal charges that could lead to a ten-year sentence" thing to deal with - so he started a GoFundMe to pay for his legal bills.  I'm not going to link to it, but it's raised about $120K.

More or less predictably, some on the right have pointed out that GoFundMe supposedly forbids raising money for criminal ventures.

But more interestingly, he's apparently been getting flak from the left, as some have apparently claimed he's profiteering from his...er, traveling around and shouting at people's businesses.

Kelly responds (language perhaps less safe for work than any video you'll see today)

The guy's nothing if not consistent.

The French Revolution collapsed when the revolutionaries ate each other.

Here's hoping Minneapolis's "revolutionaries" have a very French day.
