Armageddon might well be around the corner if this weekend’s version of Saturday Night Live is any indication. In fact, they opened with a pretty sweet, solidly funny schmack at our national geriatric dementia patient.
“Saturday Night Live” this weekend zeroed in on the tense state of the country with a cold open centered around a game show called “So You Think You Won’t Snap?”
…The first contestant (Heidi Gardner), who Yang described one of the only four “people in America who have not yet snapped,” was read increasingly concerning news about a potential nuclear threat from Russia and President Biden’s ability to deal with it.
…”On Thursday, Biden said we are closer to nuclear Armageddon than we’ve been in 60 years,” the host said.
When Gardner’s character answered, “don’t know where to put that in my brain but I love Biden,” Yang sadistically reminded her of Biden’s age.
…He then played a real video clip of Biden on ’60 Minutes” talking about his “mental acuity.”
Gardner’s also the first “contestant,” so you won’t have to wade through any of their usual clap-trap to watch it.
As if that wasn’t enough, or perhaps a gratuitous shot at being evenhanded, they got their digs in again during the Weekend Update, mocking Biden’s obvious mental shortcomings. Sure, he’s squeezed in between Herschel Walker and Ted Cruz, but he’s there.
…Jost played a clip of Biden speaking at a car factory in Hagerstown, Maryland.
“Let me start with two words: Made in America,” the president said. He also was heard complaining about reporters after they shouted questions at him and said that they were “the only press in the world that does this.”
“Well, let me respond with two words, Jesus H. Christ,” Jost joked. “Biden was then heard criticizing reporters at the White House for shouting questions at him. Questions like, ‘what year is it?’ And ‘who’s the current president?’
He added, “also, they weren’t reporters, they were doctors.“

I’m just going to figure they gave their NBC “journalist” compadres a solidarity shout-out here, too, dinking on Biden’s well-established reputation as “Walk Away Joe” (a sobriquet earned during the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal). He’s notorious for turning and walking off from the podium without taking questions while a stymied press barks questions at his retreating behind.

Is this enough to watch SNL again? Ah…NO, perish the thought. But it sure is noteworthy that the smug coolsters on the show are going after, not Biden’s disastrous economic policies or how he’s jacked up foreign affairs or any of the rest of the string of miserable failures visited on the country so far. No. They’re going after his mush-filled BRAIN, with the video to make their point. Many of their viewers who have insulated themselves in MSNBC and liberal news media cocoons might well be seeing those two clips for the first time, and there could be more than one shocked 30-something in the audience with a “Wait, whut?!” face on. Because they believe SNL wouldn’t lie to them, so you mean to say the old geezer really…ew.
If you watched the clips, did you also see who else they took a shot at? Kamala Harris. Very, very interesting.
And this is before what is generally predicted (and fervently hoped) to be a God-awful mid-terms for Democrats. Seems as if the shine could be off this administration, the rules of engagement relaxed among combatants on the Left, and the kid gloves put back in the drawer. I can’t imagine how bloody the knives will be after November if that comes to pass.
