I guess today is 'thump on California day.'
Temecula Valley is on the opposite, or inland side of the mountain range that snugs up next to Camp Pendleton along the Pacific. It used to be pretty sparsely populated, dusty farms and avocado groves, things like that mostly. Until someone realized you could grow some pretty decent grape vines out in that God-forsaken neck of the woods, and vineyards started springing up, some hugely successful as the years went on.
There was also a lot of urban sprawl happening in the 80s, coinciding with a pretty decent drought about that time. So acre after acre of what were once lush avocado orchards, whose growers could no longer foot the bill for the irrigation, got sold to developers and bulldozed up.
The place has been awash in people and businesses for ages, and has a super slick visitors' website for the Temecula Valley area, comprising the cities of Murrieta, Temecula, and Wildomar.
It might be 'one of the most beautiful areas in the world' to visit, but if you have kids, even if you can afford California, you might want to rethink packing up the truck and moving after watching that enticing piece of film.
The Temecula Valley Unified School system is as woke as the folks in the video ooze uber-coolness.
Should your daughter wish to use the girls' room at school, and have a problem with the chance of encountering a boy or man in her space, the school system has decided it's your daughter who needs a mental health accommodation, not the obviously confused (or perhaps cleverly predatory) male.
Imagine being a 14-year-old girl in middle school. You just want to use the bathroom in peace, without a boy walking in. Sounds like common sense, right?
Well, not in California.
The Temecula Valley Unified School District (TVUSD) has come up with a stunning new rule. If a girl feels uncomfortable sharing a bathroom with biological males, she can’t just use a private facility.
No – she’s told she must file a “Mental Health Accommodation Request” under federal disability law.
Your little girl has to explain and justify her objections to men in her private lavatory or locker room.

Parents were absolutely wigging out over the form a month ago, to no avail, although there were most assuredly some super creepy vibes from school board members.
The mother speaking at the meeting even commented on it.

What's surprising about this entire episode is that the same school system, up to this point, has been a flashpoint for fighting the woke.

But in May, an appeals court in CA cut the legs out from under them regarding both the CRT ban and the parental notification.
A California appeals court on Monday ruled that the Temecula Valley Unified School District must immediately cancel a ban on critical race theory during a lawsuit over the policy in state courts.
The school district’s Board of Education voted to ban critical race theory, or CRT in December 2022. The academic framework originated in the 1970s and ’80s and examines the systemic extent of racial inequality and racism in the American legal system and societal institutions.
A three-judge panel overturned a Riverside County Superior Court ruling allowing the CRT ban to continue while the lawsuit plays out.
...The lawsuit also challenged the TVUSD policy of notifying parents about a student’s gender identity. The appeals court decided that issue was now moot because state law prohibits such automatic notification policies and instead prioritizes students’ privacy rights.
“District teachers have experienced anxiety and confusion in knowing what is prohibited by the Resolution and fear extreme repercussions without guardrails for even accidental violations,” Justice Kathleen E. O’Leary wrote in the court’s May 19 ruling.
So, how and where this sudden, revolting 180° came from, I have no idea, but holy moly.
It has to be in conjunction with what is obviously an in situ radical teachers' union chapter, a pretty large group of woke parents. and a single swing vote on the five member school board.

This constitutes both psychological coercion and authoritarian pressure at a truly vulnerable time in young girls' lives.
...By forcing girls to file this form, the district is telling them: You’re the problem. Not the boys walking into the girls’ restroom. You.
It’s an upside-down world where the most basic expectation of privacy is treated like a disability.
This madness isn’t just happening in California. Across the country, courts and legislatures are wrestling with the bathroom issue.
Just this year, the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a Florida school policy that required students to use bathrooms based on their biological sex.
The court ruled 7-4 that protecting privacy and safety was not discrimination under Title IX.
That ruling sets up a possible U.S. Supreme Court showdown, since other courts have ruled the opposite.
These individuals are so sick and damaged, they shouldn't be allowed to be anywhere near a child, less mind making the rules for all of them in a school system.
There are plenty of tags of Harmeet Dhillon in the comments and reXweets, so we'll see what federal attention this gets. I cannot imagine they'll let this pass unnoticed. Riley Gains has been in the threads, too, and she is not one to back off when she hears about something so egregiously wrong.
But, man.
