We're still a decent way out from the 2028 presidential primary scrums beginning in earnest, but not too early that we can't sit back and watch the pretty entertaining jockeying for position going on in Deep Blue Land.
Now, to be fair, Republicans are going to have candidates, too, but what is so refreshing about our side - for once - is that it's as deep as the deep blue sea with proven, rational adults.

The exact opposite is true on the Democratic side, and what makes it even more delicious is that they know it, but haven't a clue how to dig their way out of the progressive, nutzoid hole they've found themselves in.
You've got the governors with the poster boy or pageant queen looks that are basket cases and laughingstocks nationwide.
The first one who springs to everyone's mind is obviously California's Gavin Newsom. The governor is the oleaginous master of sleazy, fantasy-laced rage-baiting and weepy origin fables, whose interviews are set pieces sprinkled with twee crossed-legs and shimmy-shimmy cocobot shoulder moves.

This part still baffles me. Did she pull over the car on a back road, maybe ask a fellow loading hay, or something, into a pick-up to say the n-word for the kiddies? I mean, how exactly does she do racism tourism?
Was it interactive, or did they only slow the car down, open a window, and offer bullet points as they drove by? You know, so the Golden State kiddos didn't contaminate their holier-than-thou privileged selves.
The creepy-as-all-get-out Mrs. Newsom also employs the prerequisite AWFL prog 'bird fingers' when speaking.

All this and we haven't even touched on what Newsom's two terms have done to the state.

And here we are, a mere four months into 2026, and Nick Shirley is romping all over Los Angeles, making videos and scoring such blatant hospice scalps that even CBS News roused itself to go fraud hunting and then continue to report on the nascent federal efforts.

Possible competent contenders like Pennsylvania's Josh Shapiro are right out because they're the wrong religion. The screaming anti-Semites now in charge are not no way, not no how going to allow a J-E-W, of all religions, to get anywhere near the Democratic Presidential ticket. Their maniac, foaming at the mouth foot soldiers in the streets will burn cities down before that happens.
That also takes party royalty like Rahm Emanuel out of the running, however soothing he comes across, and 'normally' he might be talking during appearances right now.
And believe you me - he is doing his best to appeal to people who don't remember who Rahm Emanuel was and, most importantly, still is.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are widely believed to be doing so. Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is another possible candidate, though some insiders think she's unlikely to run.
- Many of the men seen as possible 2028 contenders aren't white Christians.
- Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel are Jewish. Arizona Sen. Ruben Gallego is Latino. California Rep. Ro Khanna is a Hindu of Indian descent. And New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore are Black.
- Besides Buttigieg, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly and California Gov. Gavin Newsom are white Christians, though Newsom has called himself an "Irish-Catholic rebel."
Perhaps it's a personal failing - I don't really think so - but I cannot disappoint Michelle Obama enough in one lifetime to ever feel my work is done, you know?
And what a line-up they have there. As I said, the lone, near-normal Democrat is Shapiro. For the life of them, Axios will not say why a Jew is not acceptable, when a Jewish man - the wonderful senator and human being Joe Lieberman - was perfectly acceptable and nearly Vice-President as AL Gore's running mate in 2000.
What has the Democratic Party allowed itself to become?

And what they need to save themselves from themselves wants nothing to do with them.
So if they should manage to scrape up a body to fill another one of their categories - this one would be white, Christian, male - watch out.
