Federal agents and police detectives have arrested a 35-year-old woman who prosecutors say was planning to bomb the New York State Capitol, according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court on Thursday.
The woman, Jessica Bowie, was charged with one count of attempting to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization, according to the complaint.
In the complaint, Joshua Parker, a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force in Albany, detailed how agents used Ms. Bowie’s social media posts to identify her as a potential threat and mounted a sting operation to arrest her.

A New York woman plotted to bomb the state Capitol in Albany after pledging allegiance to ISIS and celebrating the 9/11 terror attacks, the FBI said Thursday.
Jessica Bowie, 35, from Albany, allegedly began strategizing the attack in July — and planned to place the bomb in a DoorDash food delivery bag, taking apparent glee in the bloodshed it would cause,the feds wrote in a criminal complaint.
“Blowing kafirs [non-Muslims] brains out is beautiful,” she told someone who turned out to be an FBI informant, the complaint said.
Her love affair with Islam began five years ago. It makes me wonder what was happening in her life at the same time.
...Bowie, who converted to Islam five years ago and was going by the Islamic name “Aisha Saif,” also allegedly tracked the Capitol building for weeks, taking pictures from various vantage points including an “observation hall nearby,” according to the complaint.
And how you make the leap from just a weirdo to pledging to ISIS and planning your escape to Syria, after hoping to murder more than 'just two or three' fellow Americans, doesn't seem to be anything too far-fetched for those on the edge of this unhinged, uncontrolled, and uncontrollable coven.

These women have so many issues with apparently no built-in self-mechanism for dealing with them. Dealing with everyday things like frustration, anger, disappointment- whatever the irritant or its size - it's too much to ask for patience, understanding, and a modicum of maturity. Maybe they don't feel they have to deal with them - that they themselves bear no responsibility to take themselves in hand. That the world owes them dealing with their myriad behavioral breakdowns and mental comorbidities.
They certainly get even more incensed when someone suggests they chill out and are overreacting to the situation at hand.
It could be either, or...or both.
But this tenuous grasp on self- control seems to be easily flipped into something sinister.

Just last month, another radicalized upstate New Yorker, 37-year-old Catherine Beth Washburn, was charged with allegedly supporting an Islamic terrorist organization after donating $30,000 in cryptocurrency to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad group in Gaza.

The federal complaint shows that Bowie was deep into LARPing as an Islamic operative, down to sprinkling Jihadi jingo terminology through her communications.
...Through the course of the investigation and as alleged in the government’s complaint, investigators learned that Bowie had intended to conduct the attack before fleeing to Syria to join others in ISIS-controlled territories. She was observed making several visits to the New York State Capitol grounds and taking several photographs of the building. In describing the New York State Capitol building as her target, Bowie stated: “I want to destroy as much of the building as possible and kill the senators while they are meeting. I want them to lose a lot of important documents as well” and “I want it to have a affect on the American system. And destroy some of the taghut.”
...According to the complaint, Jessica Bowie has expressed anti-American messages online. On one account identified as belonging to Bowie, she said, “Praise be to Allah for September 11th” and “When I can migrate, I will poison these infidels.” Further, Bowie recorded and disseminated to others online her “Bayah,” or formal oath of allegiance to ISIS.
Well. Thank God they were watching, is all I can say. But this is such a sad commentary on the fragile state of the AWFL mind.
The FBI and US Attorney also make no mention of who Ms Bowie's contacts were, which I understand. But there's no hint of whether there's a mosque she attended regularly and she was 'radicalized' online, or was she a do-it-yourselfer?
A miracle she never got close to doing anyone harm, and I believe, had she managed to flee to Syria, that would have been a hard but truly deserved lesson for her romantic vision of Islam.
Britain is still dealing with the fallout from their ISIS bride chaos of years ago. They stripped citizenship from some of the girls, who were teenagers at the time, unlike this creature, and are now quietly trying to bring some of those children - and their parents - back to the country.
There is no empathy quite as effective as the suicidal kind.
