Celebrities Cosplay Patriotism at Worst Possible Time

It really is getting ridiculous.

For more than 10 years, Hollywood elites have raged against President Donald Trump. Louis C.K. and Sarah Silverman were among the first to play the "Trump is Hitler" card, a tactic that hasn't ebbed over time.

Those comparisons have grown even sillier, given President Trump's pro-Israel bonds and the Left's rising antisemitism. Here's betting Graham Platner, he of the 18-year Nazi tattoo, will get plenty of star support during his Senatorial campaign come fall.

That hasn't stopped the Hollywood histrionics. They did provide some laughable videos over the Trump years, though. Remember this celebrity-powered clip suggesting the Mueller Report truly did find Russian collusion.

We just didn't read it all the way through.

That's not A.I.

It really happened.

The latest Tinsel Town silliness? A gaggle of famous faces gathered to attack President Trump anew, but this time they dropped their grievances on the nation's birthday. Just don't question their patriotism, right?

Sarah Jessica Parker, Mark Ruffalo, Judd Apatow, Ted Danson and more took part in a video compilation attacking President Trump's "tyranny." The big news? None of the stars were accosted, let alone arrested, by the current tyrannical regime.

Worst. Tyranny. Ever.

A somber Parker, freed from her "Sex and the City" reboot chores, led the parade of stars.

"Every generation since has faced the same question: What will you do when our country asks and needs something of you?"

For these celebrities, the answer is to make videos that draw snickers, not action. When push came to shove, these celebrities virtue-signaled. To be fair, it's better than what they did during the tyrannical COVID-19 lockdowns.

Heck, anything is better than this.

The new video builds on author Timothy Snyder's 2017 book, "On Tyranny," which can be found in the TDS section of your local library. The video, shared on Snyder's Substack page, also features a list of 20 "to do" items to prevent the Trumpian takeover. Said list is jam-packed with comedy gold. Consider:

Parker capped the manifesto with the following warning:

The lesson of America is not that our republic is a given ... It is that it must be defended again and again by people who refuse to give up on one another and, on the highest promise of the nation, for future generations. What happens next is not inevitable, it depends, as it always has on us.

"What did you do during the great Trump wars, Mama?"

"I made ... a video, darling," Parker told her offspring with pride and resignation, preparing for a cameo in the "Sex and the City" reboot.
