Ed: What a great way to salute the Trolling Queen.

NY Post: “The most important thing isn’t that we were hit by drones,” Thunberg said. “Drones are something that Palestinians experience 24-7.”

Acar likened the assault to “a battlefield,” adding that the ships could not even reach out to the Coast Guard because of the jamming.

“It was horrific that this can happen in international waters, close to Greece. I mean, in Europe,” she told NBC News.

“There were bombs after bombs … and no one came to help,” she added.

Greece’s Coast Guard confirmed that it did not receive any reports of distress calls from the flotilla.

Ed: There was something on the air that night, the drones were bright, Fernando
They were searching there for you and me, for futility, Fernando
Because we never thought we could lose, there's no retreat
We tried to do the same again, because we're twits, Fernado ...

Daily MailGayle King was left speechless on Thursday over her CBS Mornings co-host Tony Dokoupil's blunt commentary about Jimmy Kimmel.

King had been discussing the TV presenter's return to late night and how it drew his largest audience in years, despite it not airing in nearly a quarter of American homes due to TV operators Sinclair and Nexstar refusing to broadcast the show. ...

Discussing the many millions of views Kimmel received on YouTube and other social media platforms, Dokoupil cut in with a dose of reality.

'But the 26million [views] on social media, most of that money doesn't go to ABC,' he said.

'And the business is bad if you're offending half the country - ones that voted for the guy he doesn't like. So. Here we are. Good luck, late-night.'

Dokoupil's frankness appeared to leave King momentarily stunned in her anchor chair.

Ed: One of these anchors has prepared for the Bari Weiss era at CBS News. One clearly ... hasn't. Other than that, yes, Dokupil has this exactly correct, not just with Kimmel but with the entire late-night genre. All three broadcast networks bet heavily on political polemics and demagogues, and they are losing their shirts over the results. Kimmel's show is over whether the axe falls now or in March, when his contract expires. Disney and Bob Iger are going to lose more money by delaying the inevitable just to save face with the radical-progressive Hollywood clique.

2. According to this, he has a "Doctorate in education urban education leadership" from St. John's University. According to the St. John's website, I see no such degree offered[.]

Ed: Be sure to click through and read the whole thread. One of the authors of this disaster is Jackie Norris, who used to be Michelle Obama's chief of staff. And guess what job she wants next?

Kat Rosenfield at the Free Press: There’s a famous saying, often attributed to Jean-Paul Sartre (it’s actually a paraphrase, but close enough): “The antisemite does not accuse the Jew of stealing because he thinks he stole something. He does it because he enjoys watching the Jew turn out his pockets to prove his innocence.”

In other words, people who traffic in destructive rumormongering are often telling stories that even they don’t believe. The point is not the lie itself, but the burden it places on the person being lied about to perform the exhausting, undignified, humiliating exercise of refuting the allegations. It’s about stealing their time and energy, about the power trip of setting little fires in someone else’s house and then sitting back, laughing, while they run around trying to extinguish them.

This is especially true when, as in the case of Brigitte Macron, what is being alleged is not just potentially damaging but completely insane: Among the allegations levied by Owens is that France’s First Lady is not just a man, but an identity thief who fathered her own husband before transitioning to live as a woman.

Ed: This is a sad story in more ways than one. Falling down rabbit holes is a risk in a politically engaged life, no matter where on the spectrum one lands. The incentives for clicks and drama increase that risk. Usually, well-balanced people pull themselves back from the brink before things reach this stage. Kat's essay is worth reading in full, but this observation is especially on point.

Ed: When the ABA existed as a non-partisan association focused on excellence in legal representation and education, their accreditation monopoly *might* have made sense. However, the ABA -- like the ACLU and other supposedly independent orgs -- transformed itself into a progressive-activist group decades ago. This is a necessary first step to removing the influence of politicized groups in education.

Fox News: When the Obama Foundation snagged a sweetheart deal to build its beleaguered Obama Presidential Center on a Chicago public park, it pledged to create a $470 million reserve fund to spare taxpayers should the project ever go belly up.

But new tax filings show the foundation has only deposited $1 million into the fund and has not added to it in years, with critics saying the empty promise could potentially leave Chicagoans on the hook for hundreds of millions of dollars.

Ed: Well, Chicago foisted Obama on us. It seems only fitting that they get stuck with the bill. But, er, didn't the Obamas get a nine-figure deal from Netflix after he left office? Shouldn't they have kicked some of that into the kitty?

Ed: The ugly architecture may have been the first hint, eh?

===

Ed: So ... Kamala Harris wasn't an anomaly after all.

Ed: When we say Democrats are out of touch, we may be too kind. They are out of their minds with Trump Derangement Syndrome.

Two, the story I told helped create the framework for the rest of my life bc I committed to my vision for my little family in public. It also inspired people to support and pray for me and helped other people facing crisis, too, I’ve learned in the intervening 10 yrs. Grief is a strange journey and sometimes feeling capable and strong means doing things you’re good at, and @MrsErikaKirk  is very good at this. She is carrying on Charlie’s vision, as she is so well-positioned to understand it. Feeling capable and strong will help her be a mom in her darkest moments to her children, who are no doubt (as mine were) surrounded by love and help right now. She is going through something very big and she is doing it with a fierce faith that is carrying her. She is not weird. She is exceptional.

Ed: WTF is wrong with people? By the way, allow me to extol Mary Katharine, who exuded strength and class throughout when her husband died unexpectedly and tragically. I was at the memorial service, and she amazed me with her poise and spirit while still deeply mourning her lost spouse. She is amazing, and so is Erika Kirk. Both of them understood that grief doesn't end, but instead just gets incorporated into the life they had to live afterward. I admire both women, and I suspect that the sniping at Erika is not just political but also an expression of personal inadequacy of the trolls.
