Welcome to our VIP feature for Hot Air as well as a members-only show in the Hughniverse! Duane Patterson and I now are doing a Week in Review show for Friday evenings, exclusive to members in both platforms. Duane has been the Generalissimo behind the Hugh Hewitt Show for more than two decades, and we have partnered on weekly commentary since 2007. And don't miss Duane's new podcast series and platform, Duane's World!

What stories topped your priority lists this week? Oddly enough, as Duane points out, Iran doesn't – even though it's still the biggest issue facing the world. We briefly discuss the holding pattern on Iran, and predict it will end before the next episode.

Instead, we talk about the anxiety of Republicans over the midterms, which seems pretty incongruous given all of the recent economic reports. I talk through both the CPI and jobs reports this week and why they look good – and are actually better than they appear. The upcoming DHS shutdown will likely not last long, we both predict, as the impacts will fall not on immigration but on airline travel, disaster relief, and the Coast Guard. Who's winning and who's losing in the Epstein Files release? And will the BBC find a sudden desire to fund Donald Trump's presidential library?

Be sure to watch it all, and extend the conversation in the comments!
